Reflection
What I think that my portfolio says about me is that I have a wide range of interests and views. That is true I have a wide range of activities that I am actively involved in. Of the poems that I wrote my favorite would be either the Found Poem or the If I Ruled the World Poem. I liked the Found Poem because I thought that it turned out really cool, and the If I Ruled the World Poem really made me think about what I dislike in today's world. My favorite poetry to write would be the magnet poem, because I enjoyed having random words be the cause for my inspiration. I really enjoyed having a challenge of writing ten different styles of poems, and I learned that not all poetry is sad and sappy. Overall my blog say that I am an athletic teenager who cares about the world and others. It says that I will be joking and I will be serious, but most of all it says I am Colin.
Found Poem
The Best Ever?
Eternal front runner, and he kept coming up short at the finish
Anger turned into determination
It demanded a new identity
It was his thought process that separates him
"It is my responsibility"
Changes the game with a single play
Seeking prey and its time to feast
There is nothing he can't do
The Ultimate Athlete
Best in the world

If I Were In Charge Of The World
If I were in charge of the world there would be no more warsAll they are good for is death and pain
They hurt husbands, wives, kids, and many more
Where there is war there is no gain.
If I were in charge of the world everyone would have food
It is no way to live with no food on your plate
Knowing people are staring puts me in a sour mood
If everyone could eat their fill, that would be great.
If I ruled the world there would be large fields of green grass
No cities, planes, trains, or cars
The rivers would be rushing and filled with bass
Just a wide open world with no straight lines or bars.
If I ruled the world everything would get the respect it deserves
There would be no trash laying on the ground
Drivers would give animals life saving swerves
There would be no waste just laying around.
If I ruled the world...
Autobiographical Poem
ColinThoughtful, friendly, competitive
Son of Doug and Amy
Who loves sports, sleep, and food
Who feels anxious, happy, and exhausted
Who needs more hours in the day, time with friends, and less homework
Who gives time, effort, and support
Who fears death, failure, and letting people down
Who'd like to see Mt. Rushmore, an area without people, and Africa
Who dreams of the future, success, and happiness
Student of Mrs. DeVoe

Sensory Poem
You see children running and begging.
Everything feels dirty.
You hear children laughing and music blaring.
You smell foods of all new kinds.
You taste the strange taste of new foods.
You are at the Carnival.
Everything feels dirty.
You hear children laughing and music blaring.
You smell foods of all new kinds.
You taste the strange taste of new foods.
You are at the Carnival.
